Seeing many doctors begins..... TMJ and Mandibular Block

The doctors tried to say he had TMJ.  They gave him a splint to wear in his mouth at night.

It would have been nice if that had fixed the problem.  But, it didn't.

He tried it for a few months and it did nothing.

This was the first diagnosis checked off the list of many possible diagnoses.

The dentist did a mandibular block to see if that would numb the pain.  They did it on his left side, where the pain was.  A mandibular block is what the dentist give you when they are going to do dental work and you need to be numb.

Thankfully it worked.  The pain was gone for about four hours.  Shae hadn't been able to eat much for many days, so we drove to a fast food chain and he ordered a cheeseburger and fries.  It wasn't the healthiest meal, but he sure enjoyed it!

The dentist decided to send him to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor.......
